My First Ever Nephew

Dion was born when I was in Grade 4 I think.. That was 1997.
I was not aware of a lot of things back then but I know I learned a lot when Dion came along and I suddenly became the sort of big sister that I never was.

January 10 is yours Dion. Although I dunno if you will care now or at all. I will thank you anyway.

Thanks for coming into our lives on that 2nd day of July 1997. Things were different after you came. We all adjusted to you, the youngest human being at home. I myself have adjusted, too. I stopped watching TV late because you were sleeping. I learned to change diapers, feed a baby and make milk (I was Grade 4, would you believe it?). I know though that the things I learned will never be useful because as far as I know, I won't have kids anyway. But I am thankful for you nonetheless because it is the little things that get us ready for bigger things. I would want to believe that I am responsible enough to be given real responsibilities now. And I think I can say that having you in my life has somehow taught me to be responsible.

Hey Dion, today is for you ;)
